Henry Suubi’s situation is the reason why people held big graduation parties in the past, to celebrate that successful journey. It is very typical, students of Suubi’s background perform better in school because they get no destructions and have a difficult background which moulds them into hardworking people. Most students today dont go through such hustles to study. Yes, I say so because even the poor parents treat their children as if they are coming from billionaire’s families. You could be poor but your child doesnt feel it because whatever he asks for, you run to borrow money and provide it. The hustle instead comes to you not the child. By nature of Uganda’s economy, if we are to go by each household’s income, very few parents would even afford that metallic suitcase Suubi has, but parents stretch so hard into bank loans only to spend their money on luxury suitcases to impress a child. In a normal situation where people live within their means, Suubi’s condition would have been normal to us because that is the economic level of majority Ugandans. This teaches us two things, One, Uganda is a developing country with over 68% people living below $1 per day, all government plans should be drafted focusing on the majority, which is 68% living under $1. Suubi is just exceptional, but there are many Suubis in the villages who would have been so productive to this nation but their wisdom has bot been tapped by govt. The only way a nation can benefit from its population growth is through exploiting it, and that only happens if the population is productive which comes as a result of good education. In China almost every youth is innovative and can produce something. Their population is almost bigger than Africa but the rate of crime is low because everyone concentrates on his projects. If everyone becomes busy and crime rate goes low, people can save the money now spent on constructing perimeter fences, paying security companies and cameras and use the same amount to build rentals. A country with poor security hampers people’s development, citizens spend on security instead of building their nation. Security is the role of govt.

Two: Parents, let us get back to reality, let your child learn from Suubi, you can study and pass without going to an expensive school, you can study at University with a metallic suitcase, you can study without a laptop and still pass.
